The ADAC GT4 Germany season got off to a successful start for CV Performance Group – the team celebrated its debut victory in the racing series at Oschersleben.
The ADAC GT4 Germany started the 2023 season at Oschersleben, with CV Performance Group bringing two Mercedes-AMG GT4s to the grid. Jan Philipp Springob and Simon Connor Primm as well as Ferdinand Winter and Patrick Steinmetz drove the two cars of Christian Voß’ team.
Springob took up Saturday’s race from second on the grid and also handed over the #85 car to his partner in this position. Primm continued to put pressure on the leading Mercedes of a rival team and took the lead after the latter had to serve a penalty. After one hour of racing, the youngster was the first to see the chequered flag. For both drivers and the racing team from Mendig, it is the first race win in the ADAC GT4 Germany.
Ferdinand Winter and Patrick Steinmetz finished the race in 18th place.
In the second race, Primm dropped back from seventh on the grid to 14th position with problems in the early stages before handing over the car to his partner from Olpe. On the angled circuit in the Magdeburger Börde, where overtaking is traditionally difficult, Springob then stormed back to seventh position in the second half of the race, securing important points for the duo.
In 15th position, Winter and Steinmetz in the second car were also able to collect their first point of the season.
As a result, Jan Philipp Springob and Simon Connor Primm are leading the overall ADAC GT4 Germany standings after the season opener at Oschersleben. Primm also leads the Junior classification after the first two rounds. In the team standings, CV Performance Group occupies second position.
“We were finally able to celebrate our first victory in the ADAC GT4 Germany,” said CV Performance Group team boss Christian Voß. “With this weekend’s performance, we underlined our ambition that we want to have a weighty say in the title fight.”
The second race weekend of the ADAC GT4 Germany will take place on the last weekend in June at Zandvoort on the Dutch North Sea coast. Before that, the racing team will compete in the GTC Race at the Lausitzring.
