Adrian Lorenz leads CV Performance into the top ten in Kerpen

Kerpen. CV Performance Group X JP Motorsport was represented by seven drivers across four classes at the historic Erftlandring last weekend for the third round of the ADAC Kart Masters. On the 1,107-meter track in Kerpen, the team experienced an up-and-down weekend featuring some strong individual performances, but also several penalties and setbacks. Adrian Lorenz achieved the best final result with ninth place in the OK-N.

In the OK-N class, Adrian Lorenz, Elias Tittus, and Sebastian Verger Morell formed a strong trio. Lorenz set the pace with 12th place in qualifying and improved to eighth and ninth in the two heats. This placed him eighth overall after the preliminary races. After finishing tenth in the Super Heat, he also started the final from tenth. He fought his way up to ninth place, solidifying his position in the top five of the overall standings.

The other two drivers, Elias Tittus and Sebastian Verger Morell, were in the mix in the upper midfield throughout the weekend and were well-positioned for the final in 15th and 12th place, respectively. However, both were forced to retire during the final race.

Nicolas Hoppe had a promising start in the OK-N Junior class. With fifth place in qualifying, he initially put himself in a strong position. After two setbacks in the heats, he fell far back but continued to show his fighting spirit. In the Super Heat, Hoppe tapped into his potential, charging from the back of the field to eighth place while also setting the fastest race lap. This significantly improved his starting position for the final, but he had bad luck again in the main race and was not rewarded for his efforts.

Matthias Cavulea represented the team colors in the Mini category. After 14th place in qualifying, the first heat did not go as planned due to a disqualification, but he bounced back with tenth place in the second round. On race Sunday, he was again running in the top five and finished his weekend in 16th place.

Max Hezel and Ben Keller competed in the 38-driver KZ2 field. After qualifying 28th, Hezel had to attack from the back of the midfield. Through the heats and a 12th-place finish in the Super Heat, he qualified 28th for the final. Despite a total of 15 seconds in time penalties, he fought his way up to 25th place.

For Ben Keller, the weekend began from 36th position. He made up places in both heats but was handed a five-second penalty in each. After ranking 35th in the intermediate standings, he did not compete on Sunday.

CV Performance Group X JP Motorsport takes away some positive takeaways from Kerpen, but also a significant workload. Adrian Lorenz, in particular, confirmed his position at the front of the OK-N field with his consistent performance, while Nicolas Hoppe demonstrated his pace in the Junior category with the fastest Super Heat lap.

The team continues its season next weekend with the fourth round of the DKM, also in Kerpen.
